Our Mission
Friends of CPFA/Artsplace, Inc. is a 501c3 charitable organization established in 2003 to promote the arts and support the efforts of CPFA/Artsplace (hereafter “Artsplace”) in Cheshire, CT.
The Friends’ organization represents a wide range of individuals who share in our mission to improve and enhance the lives of our population through the arts and our exemplary Art Heals (see in menu) program has been a sought after model by other towns.
Friends funding is built primarily by donations and fundraising and residing at CPFA Artsplace in Cheshire provides the administrative efficiencies for the organization’s business operations.
Friends continually sponsors events that will bring performing and fine arts events to fruition encompassing improv groups, puppetry performances, dance demonstrations and related workshops.
From the CHESHIRE PERFORMING & FINE ARTS COMMITTEE (CPFA)
Established in 1987, Artsplace remains the only town-owned art school in Connecticut. Artsplace is represented by eleven members of the Cheshire Performing & Fine Arts Committee also known as CPFA with a mission “to encourage and promote the arts” in town.
The CPFA Committee annually awards Richard Conrad Memorial Scholarships in June to seniors at Cheshire High School pursuing a career in the arts. Awards are given to students who seek a career path in music, lighting, photography, dance, drama, industrial design, art education, etc.
Consider donating to help fund this investment in the arts higher education. No amount is too small. The grateful thank you note you receive will provide information to claim your charitable donation on tax documents. Click on the scholarship donation button
